New Zealand beat Pakistan by 110 runs
New Zealand today defeated Pakistan convincingly by 110 runs in their Group A match. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Kiwis who were off to a sedate start, accelerated their innings in the latter overs of the game to reach 302 in 50 overs.
Birthday boy Ross Taylor was the star for the Black Caps with a smashing 131 not out off 124 balls. He was declared the man of the match. With this win, New Zealand now top Group – A.
The Pakistani bowling looked weak with most bowlers out of sync. The Pakistani batsmen could not also live up to the expectations with the bat. Their top order and middle order just collapsed and the side was all out for 192 runs. Abdul Razzak was the highest scorer with a fifty to his name but it was too less and too late.
